What is 'Village
Wheels'?
It's a scheme that uses volunteer drivers to provide transport
for people
who are otherwise unable to make essential journeys, e.g.

Visit to local GP, dentist, Optician, Chiropodist,
Vet etc. |

Local Shopping, Bank, Post Office, Pension
collection, etc. |
 |
Collecting Prescriptions |
 |
Visiting sick relatives in Hospital |
 |
Attending village clubs or functions |
 |
Meeting a Bus, Coach or Train |
NB Journeys NOT undertaken - to work or school, or where a
Hospital Car or Ambulance service is available
So
how does it work?
To book a journey:-

Telephone the Co-ordinator (James &
Margaret Stanley 01278 683939)
between 8-9 am or 5-6 pm unless a real emergency |

Bookings CANNOT be accepted by
Drivers |
 |
the Co-ordinator will advise whether a driver is
available and what the charge will be |
 |
If the answer phone is connected, please give your
name telephone number and requirements and the Co-ordinator will call you back |
How
much does it Cost?
 |
A charge of 25p per mile is made per person |
 |
Fares should be given to the Driver at the start of
the journey |
 |
Any car parking charges may be claimed from the
passenger(s) |
 |
At the agreed time you will be picked up from your
home, taken to your appointment and returned home |
