Stuart Taylor, Head of External Relations, Nations and Regions of the Post Office, attended the August Parish Council Meeting to explain the "modernisation" of the Woolavington Post Office and he answered questions raised by members of the Council and members of the public.

In early September he sent the following letter

"Just following up my visit to address the Parish Council.  As you know, we have decided to proceed with the modernisation of the Post Office branch at the Co-op.  On the evening, several of your Cllr colleagues raised the matter of the range of products and service to be offered from the branch following the modernisation, and how that may differ from those currently enjoyed.  As part of the feedback to consultation this was considered by our area team and  I am pleased to let you know that we have decided to increase the services on offer from those on which we consulted to include manual banking, Transcash payments, and Royal Mail / Parcelforce Worldwide International Parcel Services.  Additionally cheques will continue to be accepted as a method of payment.

I trust the above is welcome news.  Please come back to me if you have any questions."

In recent days, the Parish Council have received a number of complaints regarding the operation of the new Post Office counter.

The various issues have been taken up straight away with Mr Taylor who will investigate them with the manager of the Co-op.

The Parish Council are very keen to ensure that this important and well used facility runs efficiently at all times.
