SUPPORTING STATEMENT/NOTES ATTACHED TO RECEIPTS AND
PAYMENTS ACCOUNT FOR 2006/07
1.
Fixed Assets
The Council owns and manages land in the parish as
follows:-
Cemetery, Church Road - land purchased and cemetery
established in 1989, at a cost of £17,000.
Allotments - 2.2 acres of land at Sedgemoor Road,
leased from Sedgemoor District Council for renewable terms of 7 years.
Playing Field - 6.9 acres of land at Sedgemoor Way,
leased from Sedgemoor District Council for 28 years term from 1981, extended
in 1997 until 27th March, 2022.
Play area - land at Higher Road, managed on behalf
of Sedgemoor District Council.
The Council also own two 'bus shelters at Lockswell
and at Higher Road, estimated value £1,200 each, valued at replacement
cost.
A pavilion was constructed in the Higher Playing
Field during 2001, at an estimated value of £95,000.
The Council also holds freehold land as Custodian
Trustee for Woolavington Village Hall, which is a registered, unincorporated
charity.
The deeds and title documents of the cemetery are
held by Clarke, Willmott & Clarke, Solicitors, in Taunton.
2.
Section 137 Payment
Section 137 of the Local Government Act, 1972
enables Parish Councils to spend up to the product of £5.44 per elector. The limit
for this Council in 2006/07 was £9,438.40.

At the close of business on 31st March, 2007, the following loan to the Council was outstanding:-

At the year end there were no outstanding debts.

Agency Work
The Council arranged for grass cutting in
Woolavington Churchyard, on behalf of the District Council.

Advertising and Publicity
The Council produced a newsletter in April 2006, at
a cost of £213.45.
7.
Superannuation
The Parish Council made no contributions on the year
of account.
