The Chairman of the Parish Council, Alan Sharp, presenting Mo Retford with the Woolavington Citizen of the Year Trophy for 2015.

A copy of the citation read out in the Village Hall just before the presentation follows

"This person has lived in Woolavington for some 15 years and in that time she has involved herself in a number of village activities.

She has been, and still is, a long term member of Woolavington Womens’ Institute serving on its committee and holding office for many years.  She was also heavily involved with the local Neighbourhood Watch, Church Guild and choir.

She has served on the Village Hall Management Committee playing a significant role in the organization of the Village Show, contributing to its success in 2013 and 2014.

Although not fully active in some of these organizations now, she still finds time to make herself available to help in any way she can.

In addition to her involvement in village activities she has, over the years, found time to make herself available for friends and neighbours in need as well as being a full time carer for her husband.

A true citizen of Woolavington for more years than many of us can remember, she is and will be a hard act to follow!!"
